In 2002, Todd founded his own firm, Sweet Sparkman Architecture and Interiors (SSAI), teaming up with Jerry Sparkman in 2004. In his 20 years of practice, he has enjoyed the study of simple building volumes and exploiting unconventional materials. Todd’s creativity, curiosity, and commitment to design excellence helped net the firm the AIA Florida/Caribbean Firm of the Year award in 2018.
Municipal planning and architecture are Todd’s specialties, having designed, and built more than 30 Fire Stations in the last 20 years. Todd is most proud of the way his projects incorporate the latest specifications for cancer prevention in firefighters, helping them extend their careers while serving as first responders for their communities.
His fire station designs have garnered numerous awards, including: Firehouse Magazine Career Stations 2 Bronze Award for Longboat Key Fire Station #92.
