Melissa has over 25 years of experience as an architect. Her clear understanding of the technical aspects of the profession are the foundation she uses to deliver a positive experience to clients. Utilizing her knowledge, leadership, and communication skills, Melissa oversees the firm’s design studio and its daily schedules and production. Working successfully with a wide variety of clientele and projects, Melissa has earned a reputation of excellence among clients and the construction industry alike.
Higbie is involved with several industry organizations, including the Construction Specifications Institute, Missouri Heartland Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials and the Springfield Contractors Association. She’s also active with area nonprofits, such as The Springfield Little Theatre, Developmental Center of the Ozarks and, most recently, the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools’ advisory council. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University.
