Dennis, previously a co-founder of Pacheco Ross Architects (PRA), is the Past Director of Emergency Services Market for H2M architects + engineers. Mr. Ross is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where his education included a year as an exchange student with the Polytechnic of Central London. He has over 40-years of focused experience including a long tenure in real estate development and construction, which allows him to assess projects from multiple points of view. He is NCARB certified; a member of the American Institute of Architects, NFPA, the International Code Council, is licensed in 14 states and an honorary member of the Kingston Fire Department. His
expertise in public forums, project management, land use, budgeting, construction and focus on solutions to difficult problems has enabled him to knowledgeably write and speak on a variety of fire station design issues. Dennis has authored many articles for Fire Chief Magazine and co-authored Chief Fire Officer’s Desk Reference and Fire Station: Architectural Insight to Planning, Design & Construction. In 2001 he was the recipient of the Business Council of New York State and NFIB annual award for “NYS Small Business Advocate of the Year”. He lives in upstate New York with his wife. Dennis is currently serving on the NFPA Technical Committee on “Emergency Responders
Occupational Health.” The Committee was tasked to develop a new Standard for Exposure and Contamination Control, NFPA 1585. Dennis led the task group for Chapter 5, Emergency Services Organization Facilities. He was also appointed to the NFPA - AEOB (Architects, Engineers, Building Officials) as an Executive Board Member in 2022.
