As the Director of Public Safety Facilities and Associate Vice President for HDR, my role is formed by over three decades of dedication to Public Safety, Justice, and Civic Architecture. My career focuses on innovation ensuring that client visions transform into operationally efficient, flexible, and future-ready structures. I form partnerships with my clients to craft professional environments that bolster mission-critical operations and prioritize the well-being, effectiveness, and professional development of first responders.
My approach is deeply collaborative, as evidenced by my recent projects that integrate health and wellness into the design of essential facility workplaces. Leveraging my expertise, these facilities not only meet today's demands but also anticipate the evolution of public safety needs. With a commitment to sharing knowledge, I contribute to the field through publications and speaking engagements, underscoring the importance of architecture that supports both community and responder needs.
Larry graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a Master of Architecture degree and a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, International Association of Property and Evidence, and the National Sheriffs’ Association. He also volunteers as a member of his local Citizens Police Academy in support of his local police department and community and is a supporter of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
