Born and raised on a Western North Dakota farm, Burton's early experiences with the ever-present threat of wildfires during harvest season left a lasting impact. He vividly recalls how farmers would immediately rush to combat the flames.
Burton brings over 44 years of diverse design experience to the EAPC team, including 13 years based in Williston at the heart of North Dakota's western region. His expertise extends across various public and governmental projects, including fire and police stations such as those in Alexandria, Detroit Lakes, Wahpeton, Genora, and New Town, MN; the Ottertail County and Gaylord, MN jails; the Mckenzie County Law Enforcement Center; Williams County Law Enforcement Center Infirmary; and the New Town Emergency Operation Center.
Along with Gloria, Burton led the EAPC design team in close collaboration with the Emergency Operation Center Director, Emergency Planning Specialist, TAT Fire Management Director, MHA Parks and Recreation Director, and their staff to develop an efficient, flexible, sustainable, and functional Emergency Operation facility.
