Steven Judd is the Technical Director and a Structural Engineer with more than 35 years of experience specializing in the design and construction of building cladding systems. He earned his BSCE from the University of Colorado Boulder and began his career at KKBNA, a consulting civil and structural engineering firm in Denver, Colorado. Over the course of one acquisition and three organizational transitions, Steven’s work has consistently centered on advancing the performance and reliability of exterior building systems.
Steven played a key role in developing ballistic testing protocols and contributed to the creation of the ballistic‑resistant Armor® Brick product line. He is a licensed Structural Engineer in Utah and a licensed Civil and Structural Engineer in California.
Actively engaged in industry standards and technical development, Steven serves on committees for several organizations, including the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), The Masonry Society (TMS), and the Western States Clay Products Association (WSCPA), where he is the Technical Chairperson. He also participates in or audits the activities of the Masonry Alliance for Codes and Standards (MACS), the National Storm Shelter Association (NSSA) Design Practices Committee, and the Western States Structural Masonry Coalition (WS2MC).
With more than three decades dedicated to structural clay masonry design, Steven continues to contribute expertise that shapes codes, standards, and best practices across the industry.
