Assistant Chief Stephen Ludwig has been a member of the Middletown Fire Department since 1996 and currently serves as Assistant Chief overseeing department operations. During his career, he has progressed through the ranks and brings extensive experience as an instructor and rescue technician. Assistant Chief Ludwig is actively involved in several local, state, and national fire service organizations, including the Butler County Fire Chiefs Association, the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association, and the Company Officers Section of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Science in Safety, Security, and Emergency Management from Eastern Kentucky University. In addition to his operational responsibilities, he oversees the department’s data analysis efforts, supporting data-informed decision-making within the division.
