Kevin Milan is an assistant chief with South Metro Fire Rescue, CO, with over 25 years of fire service experience. He is a graduate of the National Fire Academy (NFA) Executive Fire Officer Program and possesses Chief Fire Officer Designation through the Center for Public Safety Excellence. Kevin holds a Master of Science in Executive Fire Service Leadership and a PhD in Fire and Emergency Management Administration from Oklahoma State University. He is past president of the Colorado Training Officers and Fire Marshals’ Associations, director and instructor for the International Society of Fire Service Instructors, the Region VIII advocate manager for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, and a governor’s appointee to the Colorado Fire Certification and Training Advisory Board. Milan is currently the vice chair of the Arapahoe County 911 Authority and serves on the faculty for Colorado State University in the Fire & Emergency Services Administration program. Kevin presents at numerous regional and national conferences, and contributes to fire service periodicals, journals, and textbooks. Kevin holds professional licenses as an educator and architect through the State of Colorado.
