Proposals are now being accepted for presentations at the 13th Annual Station Design Conference (SDC) to be held May 17-20, 2027, at the Renaissance at SeaWorld!, Orlando, Florida.  The 2027 Station Design Conference will focus on the design, construction and outfitting of fire, law enforcement, training, and shared public safety facilities.  We are looking for enthusiastic speakers with fresh perspectives on the design, construction, and future of public safety facilities. While exhibiting is not required to present, we do encourage it so attendees can find you after your presentation.

Things to Note:

  • It is not a requirement to have previously attended a Station Design Conference to present but it does help to understand the quality and depth we offer our attendees.

  • Attendees prefer presentations that include end-users (chiefs, project managers, or related) experienced in the design and construction of a public safety facility.

Specific topics requested by recent attendees include:

Planning, Funding & Project Delivery

  • These sessions will explore a focus on strategies for successfully planning, funding, and delivering public safety facilities including fire stations, police stations, emergency operations centers, police training facilities and real-time crime centers. Speakers should address budgeting approaches, procurement models, timelines, and best practices for managing complex capital projects from concept through completion.

Design & Architecture

  • This track will focus on innovative architectural and design solutions for modern public safety facilities. Presentations should highlight how thoughtful design enhances functionality, adaptability, resilience, and operational efficiency across fire, police, EOCs, and RTCC environments.

Case Studies, Overcoming Challenges or Unique Challenges

  • We will welcome sessions that address real-world project experiences, including lessons learned from overcoming complex challenges in planning, design, construction, or operations. Speakers are encouraged to share practical insights, problem-solving approaches, and outcomes from unique or high-impact projects.

Wellness & Human Performance

  • These presentations should focus on designing and operating public safety facilities that support the health, wellness, and performance of first responders and staff. Topics may include ergonomic design, mental health considerations, recovery spaces, and operational practices that improve overall well-being.

Innovations in Technology and Security

  • This program area will focus on emerging technologies and security solutions transforming public safety facilities. Speakers should address advancements such as integrated systems, data-driven operations, cybersecurity, drones as a first responder and tools that enhance situational awareness and facility protection.

Facility Operations & Maintenance for Your Station

  • Content should explore on how to effectively operate and maintain public safety facilities to ensure long-term performance and reliability. Speakers should share best practices in lifecycle management, maintenance planning, and strategies that reduce downtime and operating costs.

Please note that submission of a proposal does not guarantee participation in the 2027 Station Design Conference.  The planning committee will review all submissions and make selections based on the relevance and timeliness of the content.  Proposal submissions are due no later than Monday, August 24, 2026.
